An icon font of fat solid silhouettes: each icon is trailed by its own contour reprinted offset down-right like a misregistered second print, or sliced into facets of one stone with a colour layer. 314 icons, ten cuts. Type an icon name and the ligature draws it.
- 314 icons, each a fat solid silhouette on the 24 unit construction grid (1 u = 1/24 em, 1 u is one pixel at 24 px), live area 20 u, centred on the 960/-240 text box so icons sit on a line of Dioptra text.
- Echo print: the silhouette is trailed by its own contour reprinted offset down-right, like a misregistered second print; holes carry a nested copy of their edge. Mode is the number of echoes: Solid 0, Regular 1, Double 2. Small (16 to 24 px) has one thick echo.
- One stone: the Stone cut slices every icon with the same two planes (14 and -52 degrees) and a 1.05 u gap, so each icon is a shard of one crystal; Stone Colour paints the facets in COLRv1 (graphite G0 to G3, pop P0 to P2, three palettes) and falls back to the gapped single-colour Stone outline.
- Ten cuts: Regular, Bold, Small, Solid, Double, Stone, Stone Colour (COLRv1), Back (second print layer), Print (COLRv0 echo colour) and Linocut (display).
- Input: type the icon name (lowercase words, hyphen or underscore, e.g. arrow-right) with liga or calt on; every name is verified with HarfBuzz. Private Use codepoints are the same as Ikonel's (U+E000 to U+E3FF, blocks per category) so the two families are drop-in swaps; 70 icons also have a standard Unicode codepoint.
- Unhinted prototype; not offered for redistribution.

Known limitations
- 314 of Ikonel's 322 icons are in; the rest were cut after review (see CRITIQUE.md): they did not hold up as fat solids (stroke-only ideas, near duplicates, unreadable at 16 px).
- At 16 px the 1.3 u echo of Regular is a grey halo (about 0.9 px); use Small at 16 to 24 px. Echoes of tiny parts (dots, close, list bullets) are noisy at any size, and Double is busy on dense icons (waveform, sliders, wheel).
- Stone: the cut planes are global to each glyph's own 24 u cell; a font cannot carry a plane across glyphs, so facets line up in height but do not form one continuous line across a row. At 16 px the 1.05 u gap is about 0.7 px (a hairline); Stone is meant for 24 px and up. Dense or stringy icons are left uncut by rule, and a few have plane overrides.
- Stone Colour needs COLRv1 (Chrome, Edge, Firefox; Safari shows the single-colour gapped fallback). Print is COLRv0 and works everywhere COLR works. Back and Print assume the Solid or Regular placement.
- Outlines are polylines (shapely buffers simplified to 0.012 u, about 0.5 font units), not smooth Beziers: invisible at any size but heavier than a hand-built font, and there are no hints (unhinted prototype).
- The input letters (a to z, 0 to 9, hyphen, underscore) are empty zero-width glyphs: a misspelt icon name shows nothing; names are matched as raw text with no word-boundary guard, so set the font only on icon-only spans.
- Pop parts (the orange bits) are drawn by hand for 25 icons only; the other icons are one colour in Print and Stone Colour.
- Linocut is seeded jitter, not hand-cut: a few thin shapes (chevrons, minus) lose their crisp character. It is a display cut, 40 px and up.
- Generic shapes only: no brand logos. The name 'Ikonel Echo' was not cleared in any font database.
