An ultra-condensed poster grotesque: tall mono-weight towers with compact apertures. Terminals are cut flat; one curling stroke end per letter is sliced on a 14 degree prism angle.
- Light, Regular, Bold and Black, a drawn Italic and Bold Italic, and an Outline utility cut for 60 px and up.
- Headline face from 60 to 400 px; short lines from 24 px in Regular or Bold. Light needs 28 px and up.
- Features: kern, liga (ff fi fl ffi ffl ft and -> <- <-> arrows), case, tnum/pnum, lnum/onum, ss01 (the other storey of a), zero, frac, sups/subs/sinf/numr/dnom, mark/mkmk.
- Latin only: Basic Latin, Latin-1, Latin Extended-A, Vietnamese and Romanian letters, punctuation, currency, arrows, math basics. Unhinted prototype; not offered for redistribution.

Known limitations
- Proportions: the width of every weight is set by its counters, so the cap-height to H-width ratio is 5.6:1 in Light, 4.3:1 in Regular, 3.5:1 in Bold and 3.0:1 in Black. Only Light reaches the 5:1 of the brief; Regular is about 4.5:1 on average over the capitals.
- At 24 px the x-height is about 13 px and a lowercase n is about 4 px wide: short lines are readable (Regular and Bold hold up best), paragraphs are not a use case. Light thins out below about 28 px.
- The 14 degree slice is 12 units deep on a Regular stem: it is invisible at text sizes by design and reads clearly from about 100 px up; in Light it is barely there even at 200 px.
- Spacing is computed (area method, a collision floor, and a verification pass over every pair) and checked on proof sheets, not tuned pair by pair; the letter kerning list is a short hand-set table because a face this narrow gives the area method little to measure.
- Italic is drawn (single-storey a, narrowed rounds, slice angles that follow the slant, own spacing) but the diagonal letters v w x y z k are sheared outlines, not redrawn.
- Outline is a utility cut made by intersecting each glyph with a stroke of its own outline (Black skeleton, 15 unit line); accents in it are lighter than the letters and the inner lines can touch in tight joins (A, M, & at small sizes). Do not use below 60 px.
- Vietnamese stacked tone marks are placed by fixed rules (the second mark rides above the first), not tuned per letter; they are legible but tall (cap plus two marks reaches 1045 units).
- Oldstyle figures, superiors, inferiors, numerators and denominators are generated from the lining skeletons (scaled, lighter pen), not redrawn. Oldstyle 3 4 5 7 9 are the weakest.
- Symbols (ampersand, at, copyright, section, pilcrow, currency signs, rupee, euro, arrows) are first drafts and the least refined part of the set.
- No small caps, no Greek or Cyrillic, no variable build.
- Name 'Stanchion' was checked by web search only (no typeface of that name was found; Stilt, Menhir and Plumb were rejected because fonts with those names exist). This is not a trademark or font-database clearance.
The designer's own list, copied unchanged from the font's hand-off manifest.
