Five weights, Light to Bold, each with a drawn italic; a variable wght 300-700 build is shipped beside the statics.
Features: kern, liga, case, tnum/pnum, lnum/onum, smcp/c2sc, ss01 (the other storey of a), zero, frac, sups/subs/sinf/numr/dnom, mark/mkmk.
Latin only: Basic Latin, Latin-1, Latin Extended-A, Vietnamese and Romanian letters, punctuation, currency, arrows, math basics.
Unhinted prototype; not offered for redistribution.

Known limitations

Unhinted: relies on the rasteriser's own anti-aliasing. Windows GDI aliased rendering below about 11 px will look uneven.
Spacing and kerning are computed (area method plus collision floor) and checked on proof sheets, not tuned by eye pair by pair; expect a few pairs a hand kerner would change.
Vietnamese stacked tone marks (circumflex, breve or horn with a second mark) are placed by fixed rules, not drawn per letter; they are legible but not refined.
Small caps, oldstyle figures, superiors and fractions are generated from the same skeletons at reduced size with a lighter or heavier pen, not redrawn by hand; oldstyle 3 4 5 7 9 are the weakest.
Latin only: no Greek, Cyrillic, Vietnamese beyond the precomposed Latin Extended Additional block, or African Latin letters.
The variable build has three masters (Light, Regular, Bold) interpolated linearly; Medium and SemiBold instances differ from the static cuts by up to about 9 units in places.
Symbols (ampersand, at, section, currency, braces, arrows) are functional first drafts; they are the least refined part of the set.
Name 'Dioptra' was checked against a web search only; no trademark or font-database clearance was done.
